EZ-52 is right, the double pack is already fully patched. I used his method to stop the missing CD-warning and that worked fine. However when launch Thief from the fixed thief.exe the game closes and I get a different error mesage. Do I launch the .bat file then launch the thief.exe? Or do I launch the .bat file then press any key, then launch the thief.exe?

Sorry turtles, but i'm afraid that i'm not all that good when it comes to problems running thief. Also, I have no ideas what '.bat' file you are talking about (unless it's the one on the hyperthreading guide. In which case, "Load the Game and Play", suggests to me that you use the original thief.exe).
As you have done what I previously suggested, I suggest you use the original thief.exe application and then use the FAQ to try and resolve any further issues (with the dual core etc...).
Im sure that if you still have problems running the game one of the more experienced people here will assist you.

Run processor.bat after you've installed the game, and press any key. That's all you have to do with it, as far as that specific file is concerned. If it doesn't fix the problem then describe what you experience. Other issues the FAQ doesn't cover will need someone more experienced than I.

Have you tried to rename lgvid.ax to different filename eg. lgvid.ax.bak? That lgvid.ax file is in your Thief folder.
Next time when you upload pictures to 'Net, could you convert them to .jpg or .png file format, please? You can use (
http://www.irfanview.com/) IrfanView to that.

ahh, i had this problem too. download ddfix (
http://timeslip.chorrol.com/current/ddfixG.7z) here. place it in your thief folder and run ddfixGUI.exe. check Video Fix and click Apply Patch. this should fix it. once the game starts press ctrl+alt+del and set the affinity to one CPU. please tell me what happens after that.
edit: if you got to the training but the screen was black and all you could see was like 10 things in the bottom left, try this. go to the pause menu then options. then click video and turn hardware off. that should fix it.
