I am sorry to say that after following your recommendations, I still get the same error message. I went through my Program Files (x86) where the game was installed, as well as my Documents Folder (both Personal User and Public). I also performed a search in my system for any file related with Thief Deadly Shadows.
I did find folders and links for TDS, and when I attempted to delete them, a message came up that the files were misplaced or removed, and so those links could not be deleted. I installed and uninstalled the game again, and could no longer find those files. I then reinstalled the game (once more, :p ) and attempted the patch, but with the same outcome.
This is definitely very strange. But if I am making obvious mistakes, please tell me, because I am not computer savvy. If you have more advice I could follow, I would definitely appreciate it. I am new to Vista, so I do not really know the loops, pitfalls and bypasses for the operating system. So I am grinding my teeth, and am preparing to sneak up and blackjack Vista. :o

Which CD do you have? (Is it an original pack? Sold-out? some other value game pack?)

Hmm. Perhaps it already has the 1.1 patch installed.
Does it say anything in the corner of the screen when on the loading screen (before the patch is installed?)

What a bloomin' taffer I am! It says 1.1 on the loading screen (in very small print). Perhaps one of you would like to hit me with a gas arrow?
Thank you for trying to help a helpless taffer. Happy sneaksing to you all.

Don't take it to heart. Nearly everyone here has made a similar, if not exact, error with the games, patches, and enhancements. :cheeky:
