ask GBM he does it without thinknig twice ;)
Not entirely true.
Plus that was the first and only time you've ever asked for such a thing. Tony's "Cranky Hammerite", I believe, will be the fourth (possibly fifth) incarnation of his... If not more. I lost count.

I've thought about the confusion, but I figure it this way. Anyone who wonders who the new guy is who happened to register three years ago and has thousands of posts can easily figure it out. The profile is a dead give away. And if someone can't figure it out, they probably didn't know me to begin with.
Believe it or not, there's a (I think) good reason for this one. It's not just a whim. Now, I've used Tony for a while here. It was under Tony that I became non-abrasive, or at least non-abhorrent. I would stick with Tony, because the people that know me here know me as Tony. However, Tony (Bony Tony, to be exact) was my nickname in high school, which is why I chose it at the time. I didn't even put it for my displayed name, but I had it for my "real" name, before the board changed and made it my displayed name.
Now, I despised high school, and I now also despise my high school self. I don't want anything more to do with it. I also do not wish to remember it. Therefore, I request that Tony be cast away in favor of Cranky Hammerite, which is a name I have used for a few years elsewhere. It is a fitting name, I think, and is also Thief related.

Tony, your request is the perfect example of when it's time to simply create a new account.
1. You've got tons of posts
2. New name doesn't resemble the current one in any way
3. You've been granted several namechanges already
If you want to cast away "Tony" and all association with the name and its relevance, then do so. Start clean. :)

I guess I'm lucky. MsLedd granted me a name change a few months back with no hassle whatsoever (thanks again for it :) ).
I just wanted to keep my internet persona consistent (and it's working - people from Harmony Central have recognized me as the guy who made a few Powertabs for the archive). I don't know if that constitutes a good reason or not... Back then I hardly ever posted anyways, except for a bit of help in the Editor's Guild...

I see, but I am not trying to remove all of my associations here. I'd like for people who know me here to still know me. I don't want to run around constantly telling people, "Hey, remember me? Oh, I'm Tony." I do not wish by any means to "make a new start" at this forum. I feel I already did that with Tony.
It's just that I want nothing to do with my old high school nickname. I don't know why I put it down in the first place. However, if it's still no, then I guess I'll stick with Tony.

Change your name and then put the relevant details in your sig.
Alternatively, stop caring.
