I'm waiting for the really smart person who finds out who their interviewer is and brings in pics of them in drunken debauchery they found on the internet, and hands that to them when the interviewer brings it up.

I'm sure the interviewer's employer does not have a policy against employees engaging in drunken debauchery over the weekends.

Just be sensible and perform a cleanup of your profile page and nothing really to worry about. As soon as we start clamping down on sites like facebook/twitter then the whole world ends.
I recently took a wade through my profile photos on there and noticed a shitload of photos of me looking like crap/drunk/whatever which were not flattering but people had tagged me in. After 30min of untagging all gone now and now I can see every photo and comment of me on there so its all good.
Plus the people I work with know what my personality is like so I don't really care what things I say on status updates.
Much more importantly - has anyone tried changing the display language to Pirate? Avast me hearties! Hilarious.

Facebook, twitter, myspace.. All of them websites for those little exchibitionists and dim stars out there who want themselves desperately to be seen by someone, ignoring the reality that they are just little unnoticeable candy wrappings in the vast infinite cosmos of trashbin.
And ofcourse there are those who delude themselves and others that "it's a good way to socialize and keep contact", while they have completely forgotten that there are such things still existing in this life as phonecalls, e-mail and face to face interraction.

I think that's worth at least 7.2 colourful analogy points there. :laff:

Clamping down? Who is suggesting that?

No, but Facebook decided to change my profile language to something foreign for several weeks, once. I think it was Svanska, because it happened at the same time Facebook was advertising their addition of the Svanska language. :p

6 months ago I would have agreed, but I was wrong and so are you.
I was contacted by a friend I hadn't seen for 10 years and it ended up in a massive 10 year reunion will all these people I'd wished I'd kept in contact with, and now am in contact with. Its a really easy way to put out invites for things and get a good idea of who can come. Facebook has a PM system which is just like email really, and if you integrate it with email accounts and phone numbers on a smartphone its tops.

Yeah he's wrong. I have about 25 members of my immediate, extended, and in-law family as facebook friends. I care about all of these people enough to follow their status updates or send them a short note or comment or something, but to be honest I'm not going to call my dad's cousin up on the phone for a nice afternoon chat on a regular basis, even though she and her husband (also a fb friend!) lead fairly fascinating lives. I don't even call my siblings up for random chats on a regular basis. There's five of them, all of us have real lives of our own and none of us have the time to keep in close contact with everyone else. BUT if one of them posts a status update that makes it obvious they're unhappy about something in their lives, then I can send them a message or give them a call to see what's up and try to make them feel better. (It also makes keeping track of all of their damn birthdays SO much easier.)
It's fine to say well you could just call or email or SEE THEM IN REAL LIFE but sorry Mister Cranky Pants, in real life that just doesn't happen, especially when you're talking about many many people spread over hundreds and hundreds of miles.
