When I get captured in the park, all my EQ disappears. I have some nicely modded guns in it, and I am worried I've lost them forever.
Are you able to get them again? Or are they lost permanently?
Spitter on 6/11/2005 at 11:04
You'll get them back.
Although to be honest, I'm not sure if you lose the mods if you pick up some other guns (and maybe mod them) before finding your old equipment again.

If you recover your equipment, you will find them in their modified condition.
You should be able to pick up your old equipment even if you are carrying the same item in your inventory, and your weapon modifications won't be lost. You can confirm this by selecting the item in your inventory screen and looking at the bonuses for accuracy, range, reload, and recoil, and whether the item has a scope or laser sight, if you added them before they were confiscated.

It's a dang good thing you can, too.
My first run through the game, I had my Sniper Rifle at maximum possible modification. I wasn't pleased when I lost it, and I was dang glad to have it back later.
If you have an uber-sexy weapon of instant death (such as the infamous LAZER PISTOL), you can quickly DROP it when the level loads, then pick it up again after the INVENTORY PURGE. Then you get to give Miguel and that first guard what they deserve.
I know it's not new.
Manuel? You mean the other prisoner? Been a while since I played DE, but wasn't he Miguel? Also... "LAZER PISTOL" ???
Anyway, I have used that exploit myself. I prefer to lead Manuel/Miguel to safety though. :laff:
Yes, he was probably Miguel. As you can see, I don't learn much about him :ebil:
My LAZER PISTOL is the Newbie pistol from Liberty Island, with every mod it will accept except scope. The laser sight bug ensures 100% accuracy, and all others make it a fast-reloading, 0-recoil, 13-bullet weapon of death. One headshot kill on all non-augmented targets, and has the nice effect of killing kids and mundane animals with one shot ANYWHERE on the body.

13 bullet? I thought the limit on pistols was 11.

I think that's the stealth pistol.
It's total crap either way. I have a stack of standard pistol magazines that hold 15. You'd think a heavily modified military sidearm could be made to carry more, no?
Edit: Mind you, I have a stack of those magazines in
real life. They don't even stick out the bottom of the gun. Now, I
know they make 30-round magazines that
do stick out the bottom.
Funny how things like weapon performance can be so exaggerated in one way and so lacking in another when compared to real life.

What laser sight bug? Somebody, please explain?
The limit on the pistol is 11 rounds. The limit on the stealth pistol is, I think, 15. The other prisoner's name IS Miguel.
Kids are fun to hit with batons because they make VERY strange noises.
Since the topic came up, if you are carrying an unmodified weapon, and you pick up another of the same weapon but with some mods on it, do the mods transfer over? I've always been worried that I might be missing out on mods this way.
