No you're not, IIRC :) But it doesn't stretch far too long, or just for the length's sake. I found it a bit tiring, but I was playing the last 6 hours in one sitting, so that might be it.

Ok good to know. I'm about to have my face-to-face with Alex as well, tho there's still things to be done downstairs.

I'm still coming upon side missions; I like how organically they develop from the scenario, rather than feeling like a bunch of icons sprinkled across the map. I also like how several of them require you to think of the different parts of the station like a real place in order to come up with alternative means of getting from A to B. It's always a good sign if a game trains you in subtle ways to not just look left and right but up and down as well.

Are there not supposed to be any Disruptor Stun Gun battery pickups after the first 10 hours or so, or is my game bugging out? I found a lot of use for that gun early on, but eventually I run out of batteries for so long that I removed it from the favourites wheel. Then I came to the point where I have to incapacitate Dahl and realized I was gonna need it again. Fished it out of my inventory, thinking surely I must've picked up some batteries for it in the last 18 or so hours of the game, but nope. Nada. Luckily I realized there was a fabricator downstairs, so I went and fabricated a battery so I could stun him. Crisis averted.

Just finished Prey. There are some stupid and/or puzzling design decisions in its last couple of hours, but I'd still say I loved this. I love the world it creates, I love the environmental storytelling, I actually love a lot of the character writing. The set of available skills and upgrades are interesting, Talos 1 is a great environment, and while it's dumb that they hid the 'true' ending behind the credits the way they did, that ending does make sense.
Does anyone know what happened to the RPS post called "On Prey's ending"? It seems to have vanished. I can find references to it, but I can't find the actual post. :-/

Maybe it's a Supporter's Post?

Thing is, I am a supporter, yet I still can't find it

Heyyyyyy, I also just finished it this morning! :D
32 hours playtime. Started on Normal, ended on Nightmare.
SPOILERS!
In the end I sacrificied myself but let the shuttle leave. I do wonder if Earth wouldn't have been taken over by Typhon if I hadn't let the shuttle leave. No, don't tell me! Gotta leave some mystique in there for the replay. I liked the story a lot, only real problem I have with it is that the pacing is a bit odd. I expected going to meet Alex (before Dahl's arrival) would trigger the endgame, but the game went on another 10 hours after that. Of couse, pacing is hard to get right in such an open-ended game, but they could've done more to signal that it's far from over at that point. I liked that the BIG CHOICES like destroying the station or escaping are introduced so early on. Not like in the Deus Ex games where the choice is only introduced in the final level. Sure, you can only make the decision at the very end, but at least by then you've had a long time to mull it over, so it feels a lot more organic and meaningful.
Overall? Yeah, best immersive sim since Deus Ex.
Lovely little details:
-a lot of shooters these days have high-powered golden guns that exist for no real reason other than that players love that shit. I love that this game has a golden gun with an actual backstory to it.
-the description of the HP-increase neuromod where it says "Extends users average lifespan by 25 years". So rare, and hilarious, to see a description for an upgrade mention something that has no bearing on the actual gameplay. It's like if an action-RPG could let you pump points into a stat that lets you swing your sword faster or a stat that makes your character more content with his life choices. :D Of course the HP-boost has impact on the actual gameplay as well, but the very fact that the lifespan thing was part of the description tickled me to no end.

I think I was lucky in that my game didn't last much longer than 4-5 hours after that expected meeting with Alex. I'd finished most of the side missions beforehand and, forced somewhat by the annoying dev choices once Dahl turns up, raced through the rest of it - in part because it was simply not as much fun to play, but also because I did feel there was a sense of urgency.
But yeah, I'd agree with you that it's the best immersive sim in a long, long time. There are things I like better about the Dishonored series, but there's something about spending all game in one huge, coherent environment rather than in descrete mission spaces that I really enjoy.

Here's some gameplay bits and pieces I recorded. Nothing super-spoilery.

Thirith, what didn't you like about the final few hours?
