Well if that wasn't a generic scifi trailer! but I like those viney-liquidy black monster things, hopefully they're more interesting than just "shoot shoot bam bam dead"

Groundhog Day in Space: The Game
So yeah, it doesn't look like it has anything to do with Prey yet, but that trailer also showed basically nothing in terms of mechanics, so...

Eh? There was quite a bit of P2 gameplay footage....

Yeah there was a bunch of gameplay footage of Colonial Marines and No Man's Sky, too. Vertical slices are fun.

So this is their system shock analogue, a first person space horror. In which you can turn into a fucking mug? Does that really fit the tone? Bit more Red Dwarf than Alien. Which might not be a bad thing if that's what they go for, but going from previous stuff there is no way their writers could pull off a comedy.

It's too early to judge, well, anything, but that mimic ability is pretty weird, yeah. However, if they're going for a splash of Philip K. Dick with this -- and it looks like they are from the reveal trailer's tone -- this could work if they're exploring fractured mental state/reality dichotomies like he did.

That DOES sound more interesting than the usual body horror stuff. Hmmm. Again though, writing really isn't their strong suit, and dick-style wierd shit isn't easy to write...
