Can I give a big YAY!!! Glad things are settling for you once again, and you can get back at it.

I also prefer non-mansion missions (although I am always willing to make an exception for a good one), but I loved every minute of Rocksbourg3. The claustrophobia, completing the objectives on Expert while ghosting, the genuinely unsettling elements and the art direction (individual yet very close in spirit to the original game) kept it fresh from beginning to end.

I don't think it will be like Rocksbourg 3 because this time there is a very big open space, I see it like a mix between "Life of the party" and a better version of "A new beginning". So yeah, I feel I'm pushing limits again, and it kinda scares me :p
I can already tell that this is going to be the most epic Thief FM ever made (but only until the release of Rocksbourg 5, of course). "Life of the Party" was the mission that made me fall in love with Thief 2 a good ten years ago and "New Beginning"... This is going to be a masterpiece. I just don't know how you do it. Seriously. AniR1 was awesome, then you released AniR2 which was unbelievably awesome even compared to its prequel.
AniR3... Unfortuately, words cannot describe AniR3, but it was like "OMG this can't be true, I must be dreaming and I don't wanna wake up until I explored every nook and cranny, please God let it be true". :cheeky:

You mean the green room, the scriptorium ? Yeah I agree it was laggy, but nothing much happens in this room so it's not really a big deal, is it ?
The scriptorium was probably the most beautiful "room" in AniR3, I was completely obsessed with it, I constantly returned there just to be there, and I showed it to everyone who couldn't understand how can I still play Thief 1-2 missions. It usually went the following:
"ZOMG THIEF IS SO UGLY, DARK ENGINE ALREADY SUCKED A DECADE AGO, GET RID OF THE NOSTALGIA GOOGLES AND PLAY SOME DECENT GAMES" etc.
"OH YEAH? CHECK THIS OUT!"
"..."
Anyways, these screencaps posted so far are not only astonishing, but they also reek of atmosphere, so I can't wait to get immersed in the real deal.
Dear DrK, Masterbuilder in DromEd, don't worry about us impatient bunch, take your time and surpass yourself once more. ;)

Anyway, t'would be intersting, if you'd explain in detail what you
actually didn't like about it.
Well, lemme say all that I
do like about it:
I love the textures: They make the hidden keeper layer look aged, and I admire that in DrK's work. He makes things look aged, very well. Also, the voice acting was better than the first 2 games (Though that one keeper voice is so repetitive I'm sick of it. Er, dunno who the voice actor is, but ah well, it never detracted). Some of the best architecture I've seen, too.
But this wasn't enough to save me from taking offense of the FMs overall design. It's very encased, and I don't feel like there's many areas I can go to. The underground, though well designed, feels a bit uninspired to me. Dunno, but maybe if I gave it another go, I might feel the overall package was worth it. Indeed, there's a certain pleasure one gets from completing DrK's FMs. Especially Greenbay, which alone is one of my all time favorites. Sure, DrK didn't put as much time into it as he did the ANIR series, but it still is an example of his immense talent.
Still, ANIR 3 is a bit of a disappointment to me. Like how I was dismayed when Episode one of Star Wars came out, and though the special FX were vastly superior to the original, I felt the original trilogy had more to it because the people making it were more devoted.

Simply because I found back a job, so no more stress about the rent :cheeky:
Seriously, for a few months I was really anxious and kinda depressed, not a good mix for dromed... Back to work heals the mind.
Now I need to find freetime for dromed :p

Yep you're right, Narbonne's cathedral should be my inspiration for Rocksbourg 5.
Actually Narbonne isn't that cramped, I've seen better/worse in villages here and there. But its cathedral is fantastic because it was never finished, it looks pretty odd at places, it reminds me a lot of Thief.
Anyway, almost every old french village can be an inspiration for thief, lucky me.
Best thing is Carcassonne, which is only half an hour from Narbonne !
