[...] and if you can play thief 3, you can play T2 fms no matter how big they are... ;)
That's probably what HipBreaker thought when releasing "(

Concerning lags in "Rocksbourg 3":

You mean the green room, the scriptorium ?
I was forced to sometimes use an older computer when playing "Rocksbourg 3" (AMD Duron, 850 MHz; 384 MB RAM, old ATI Xpert 2000 pro video card), but the only place with noticeable lag was the first room after going down with the elevator. The other library room, which had no direct access to an elevator, was less laggy.
It was not a serious problem anyway, so anyone having a computer that's not much older than 10 years should have been able to play the mission without much annoyance.

I don't think it will be like Rocksbourg 3 because this time there is a very big open space, I see it like a mix between "Life of the party" and a better version of "A new beginning".
I gotta say, that's not a bad mix! Really looking forward to it, but take your time man. :thumb:

Remember to keep it vertical enough! :)

Yeah, I thought the visuals were awesome, but honestly, I could never get into Rocksbourg 3. it's too cramped for my tastes. I mean, it's understandable that the streets of Rocksbourg would be cramped, but you made up for that, with all the rooftops and hidingplaces and hidden entrances. It was a different matter for Rocksbourg 3, which was miserable to have to trudge through. Still can't get myself to finish it, but I'm hoping part 4 will be a refreshing change.

You may well be entirely alone on that one. I for one thought it was by far the strongest of the series so far.

Albert did you get as far as the *cat walk* you are suppose to jump a few of them?
Thats a BIG area, more than meets the eye.

Jeezes, I'm only stating an opinion. Look, I know it's a style of design, but it's not my sort of thing. It's surprisingly a claustrophobic experience to go into an underground chamber and be subjected to acquiring keys only to find it's more stairwells and bookshelves. Really, I don't see whats so exciting about that.
I'm not even a very claustrophobic person. In fact, I enjoy locking myself up in a small room when I have the chance. It's very relaxing. :p
BA: Catwalk? No, if you insist, I gave up playing this FM in a bout of experiencing the boredom as expressed above. I know, that's terrible of me. I love DrK's work, but Rocksbourg 3, in my opinion, is a bit overhyped. Here's to Rocksbourg 4, which looks like a return to the classic-ness of the first two parts of Rocksbourg.
BrokenArts on 3/5/2010 at 23:08
Albert, you really missed some areas in this FM. How can you judge fully if you never finished? ;) I wouldn't worry about it, you are entitled to your opinion.
Thor on 4/5/2010 at 10:58
Nah, it went that style pretty much all the way through.
Tho the claustrophobia he was referring to probably came from the ink&dust textures and air and no sky above. The city was amazing that way with all the open space above. God I love ANIR, should replay it soon.
Anyway, t'would be intersting, if you'd explain in detail what you actually didn't like about it.
DrK on 4/5/2010 at 14:07
I can understand Albert's opinion, after all it's a matter of taste.
I'm not really fond of mansion missions, so no matter how great it looks or feel I'm never really into it. Atmosphere must be really strong to keep me entertained.
Now, I felt I had to do something different from the first missions to keep the campaign dynamic, to have some variety and avoid repetition/boredom. And to me it was the heart of the campaign, where everything gets an explanation and the story gets stronger. This mission was necessary.
So if you didn't like it, it's your loss :cheeky:
I should be back on track soon btw, things are getting better around here so I should find time and will to continue working on dromed :)
