I think it was the monolithic-slab-with-windows architecture that did it.

Sure looks alot like Hawk Mountain. You're not from that area are you?

Damn son, I camped on Hawk mountain for a weekend and some friends of mine went to the CAP ranger school up there a few years back. That shot though is from Laurel Mountain on the west side of the state where I'm from. I bet you could easily trump it with some Hawk Mtn shots though:D that place is amazing

Damn pretty pictures, folks. Specially Dia's. I have a thing for old stuff.
Well, I still haven't gone up to Cade's Cove yet. Everyone bailing out at the last minute has kept me from going. So I haven't taken a single shot in nigh on two weeks now. At least til tonight.
It's one of those dark, heavy summer nights. One of those types of nights where you see a big storm coming in over the horizon, lightning going off like a strobe, and there isn't a sound to be heard 'cept the wind in the trees. Now if you can't already tell from the previous couple of sentences, I'm a corny and cliched bastard, so I thought it'd be a good night to go take pictures.
Of course no one wants to go with me. "No, it's stormy out and almost midnight. I just wanna stay inside and watch TV waaahhhh". I dunno when all my friends and loved ones became such whiny feebs, but that's what they are nowadays. Ain't no room for adventure anymore. Just bars, movies, and restaurants. Oh well, they missed out on a gorgeous night.

Afterwords, I just sat back and enjoyed natures fireworks display. This makes me want to go out and start doing more night photography again. Hell, even the cop that pulled me over on the way home thought they were pretty.
