In my experience, you get 500 points for finding Paul if he is alive. However, if Paul is dead, you get 500 points for finding the body, and 500 more points for no apparent reason. So from a purely pointwise perspective, it's better to let Paul die (not to mention easier).
And Catman, no offense, but could you please not put those little dancing things on the end of each post? They're kind of annoying.
