A couple of months ago I installed a wifi adapter for my PC as there is no phone point in the study at my new address. Since that time I have noticed that whenever I have some other device plugged into the PC it won't boot unless I remove the wifi adapter. When this happens I also notice that the lights on my keyboard fail to come on which makes me wonder if it might be a power issue of some kind?
I have a 650W Corsair PSU. Is there any easy way to check if this amount of power is sufficient?

For sure not an issue with the power.
Sounds rather like some hardware incompatibility.
What model is that wifi adapter?
External or internal?
I assume that everything works normal if you plugin the wifi adapter after a boot?
Plug it into a perfectly different slot (e.g. plug it in at the front/top instead of the back of the PC case) and see if it helps.
Unplug everything else and see which component is having trouble with the wifi adapter being present.

It's a Netgear 2600 USB wifi adapter. Interestingly enough it has just happened again and I went through some more testing to try and isolate the problem. This time however taking out the wifi adapter and rebooting made no difference.
What is possibly a key issue here however is that when this occurs my ASUS VK248 monitor typically fails to receive any video output from my NVidia card and either the boot sequence never starts (from what I can hear anyway) or never results in the monitor picking up the signal (the monitor light stays on however). In either scenario the keyboard (Logitech G510s) sometimes fails to power on.
What I've tried so far:
* Disconnected my ASUS monitor from the NVIDIA card and plugged it into the onboard Intel one. Still wouldn't come on.
* Replaced the ASUS monitor with my old Dell 1907FP via DVI into the Intel and NVIDIA cards in turn. Worked fine in either.
* Plugged my ASUS monitor back into the NVIDIA card via HDMI (with the Dell still connected via DVI). Both are working fine now.
Very strange.
