Contains spoilers for those who have not completed the Battle for Bruma quest.
Let's see your statues in Bruma.
Here's mine. I'm in my Blade armour with "Thornblade" held above by head.

They make a statue of you? Damn, how did I miss that?

I would never have known if someone in Bruma hadn't told me I look just like my statue.
Anyone know when it's 'set in stone', so to speak? The exact moment where your equipment setup is passed on to the statue?

Whoa, I didn't know they make a statue either... *loads Oblivion*

After completing the Battle of Bruma quest and closing the great gate.
The statue is either of the best armour and sword you have during the quest or the sword and armour you were using, i'm not sure.

It's not what you're actually using, that's for sure. I took off my Ayelid crown for that sequence, and it was on in the statue.

Yes, it takes the best equipment you have in your inventory. Before the fight, just dump everything except what you want your statue to wear.

Hmm.
My statue is a lot bigger than that. It's twice as high as the walls in Bruma.
Petieng on 20/4/2006 at 21:12
Hehe, maybe they were...very pleased with your efforts in defending Bruma.
I'm not sure what the statue is (I think it may be a player model that has been enlarged, I don't know) but if you look at mine closely it sways slightly, and i've heard of a bug were it can become a ragdoll and fall off the plinth.

I looked at the script once and I'm pretty sure it's an actor. They give it inventory, make it equip it, set its idle animation, and freeze it.
Same with the Ayleid statues in the Thieves Guild quest where you steal an Elder Scroll.
