I like the visual aesthetic, but the gameplay not sure, trailer is a bit jerky and all over the place giving little idea about the actual gameplay. In fact if you got rid of the combat and made it a full story based adventure I would be interested.

Thanks for the feedback, I wholeheartedly agree about "story only" thing, I've been toying with that option for the mobile port, which would mean I should do that on pc first.
Player diversity and expactations are driving me crazy lately.;)
Current gameplay is about "Gun around and survive and then if you want to dig deeper the lore, help the survivors and be a good hero. Or just survive on your own".

I agree with Pig.

I don't. I'd keep the shooting, even though it looks a tad shallow and the animations are pretty stiff.

Surely as the creator, you'd keep whatever is true to the experience you're trying to create. This is just me wondering aloud, but shouldn't the ethos be, 'If something doesn't add value to the experience, off it goes; but if it does and isn't good enough yet, iterate until it works'?

Sulphur, that's one hell of a ethos and I can't really decide, we're under enormous bombing of "fake feedback". The moment I upload a demo on steam, I'll get so many "Hey, looks great, let me try" type of responses.
That's why I wanted to hear the opinion of gen-gaming here.
A very surreal point and click adventure is really tempting me, built upon these kind of "mood and atmosphere and visuals" but simply put, I don't know how to make that "modern enough". Traditional p&c adventure games are very hard to present nowadays and I want this more than to be a hobby project since I've spent a bit of funds on the visual side.
Apart from all of these, running around in 2.5D space can be like a relaxing exercise in-between story progression. And yeah you shot some stuff as well. It all depends on controls being clunky or not, I guess.
I'll post a public demo link here as well, when it is up.

there is a lot of mediocre 2d shooting platformers on steam. Change shit up, make a bit of a splash rather than being "another game on the list"

Hard to say Flux, as both options can be good... or bad. I've learned on my first game I needed more interaction from just the story. On the second I learned the interaction wasn't the best in places was distracting from the story. So YMMV
