Does anyone here have any home-brew solutions for getting over post-nasal drip? I've had it off and on for about 3 weeks now, and it's starting to get really annoying. It's not life threatening, so I don't want to bother going to the doctor over something that's nothing more than an annoyance.
I've been taking some Tylenol liquid coughdrop stuff. That works for about 45 minutes before completely wearing off. Same goes with Nyquil and Dayquil. I've also heard to keep yourself hydrated, but regardless of how much I take in, I still feel it.
I'm wide open to suggestions.

Got mild allergies? Is there something in the air irritating your sinuses? Are you in an area where people are burning various kinds of fuel for heat? I don't react to much to the local firewood, but prescribed burns in the surrounding forest cause irritation even when the parts-per-million are below what I can see or smell.
Whatever it is, if it just came on, and you have no other symptoms, I'd investigate subtler pollutants and allergens.

I wish I did smoke. Then I'd quit. Just for you.
I've had some really bad seasonal allergies in the past, but usually in the spring or summer. Then I just can't breathe through my nose - period. But it's only when I'm around home, so probably just a reaction to smog or something of the sort.
I'll check out some Claritin tomorrow.

Post Nasal Drip sounds like the worst breakfast cereal ever.

Irrigate with warm salt-water. You can use any basin shaped properly enough to pour it into one nasal passage, allowing it to flow out of the other. It's an odd sensation, but it works quite well. I travel a lot between harsh climates, and sometimes I need to do this while acclimatizing.

I don't have any home-brew solutions, but Alavert is over the counter and you can just take it until you don't need it anymore - works great for me when I feel a cold coming on, or when I'm recovering from one.

:laff:
And I always thought Kellogg's "Mueslix" was a name with an unfortunate pronunciation for their breakfast cereal.
