When I read all the unread posts in a forum, and then leave it, the lightbulb is still lit, and I have to go back into the forum and then out again for it switch off. I move about using the links, not the 'back' button, so that's not the problem. It's mildly irritating. Anyone have any ideas? I'm using IE6 and have cookies enabled.
edit: same problem on a different machine, running FireFox 1.0

Umm, the bulbs have nothing to do with (un)read posts. They show if other users are browsing the forum as well.

I'd say he's talking about the ones on the index page (and those group-of-forums pages that no one ever looks at, like "Community Center").

The bulbs are to do with unread posts in the relevant forums. The problem arises from a halfway-house persistant Mark Read system rather than the pseudo sort-of-works cookie-based solution vBulletin has now.
Hopefully a decent mark-read system should make it into the next vB update.

This last explains a lot for me and helps greatly.
(And verifies what I had suspected since the Korean 'police action" War... :sly: :cheeky: )
