Also you southerners clearly don't understand porridge. If I wasn't such a pansy-assed transplant, I'd still be eating it RAW LIKE THE LORD INTENDED.
With thorns right? Well... okay, I guess I can understand that. Plus you did mention real maple syrup. As long as you also kill some horrible woodland creature with your teeth for dessert.
Um... not a creature with your
type of teeth. Those are usually somewhat human. I meant without a stick or grenade launcher or any of that wussy stuff. Okay. A dull pocket knife for grizzlies.

I thought you meant some horrible woodland creature with my teeth. And hell, if something has my teeth, I'm gonna get 'em back any way I can!

Eat porridge with cinammon. It (cinammon) lowers the blood sugar levels when blood is tested by a machine.

just ran out to the shops to buy some cinammon.
rule: spread consistantly and labourously over the porridge.

a sprinkle of salt
butter or cream
raisins, during the cooking so they get soft and juicy
cinnamon or nutmeg
brown sugar
I don't always use all the options, but a nice mix of them will do.

cinnamon + sugar + apple slices + raisins
also strawberries, canned peaches, dried pears
brown sugar now & then - brought me a box from the US 3 years ago and still there's some:)
And I think I'll sue this thread for making me hungry.:grr:

Take some bread, soak it in oil. Fry it till crispy.
But it has to be potato bread or soda bread.

The oatmeal has to be really, really thick and sticky. A big pat of butter goes right into the middle of the lump, and a moat of milk all around. Sugar heavily. Each spoonful must contain butter, oats and milk but you CANNOT mix it all up. The components must remain discrete. And real butter, dammit.
