Hopefully I'm not repeating someone else here, my search came up blank:
My character has, it seems, contracted Porphyric Haemophilia, presumably from a vampire since that's what I'd been fighting just prior to noticing. Either that or a netch. The strange thing is that the 'disease' seems to be boosting my fatigue (by which I mean making me less tired - 'low fatigue' ought to mean you're raring to go, no idea what the guys at Bethesda thought they were up to there) by 1 point every second. I'm running the latest patch. So, if you fancy being able to run around without risk of being caught exhausted, go and fight some vamoires. Or netches. No idea which, I only noticed I'd got it when a Dunmer pointed it out to me, but I'm 99% certain I was disease-free before the vampires and netches. Haemophilia suggests vampires since it's a blood disease. Hopefully I'm not turning into one...

If after 3 days, and you dont cure the disease, you try to rest, you will turn into a vampire. Some think thats good, cause vampires give you a big boost in attributes and skills, but everyone hates you, guards attack you, and most of the quests you were on become undoable untill you cure vampirism... there are some vampire quests though not many... being a vamp is really boring imo.

Yep, I turned into one today. Well, not me personally. Anyway, the stats are indeed impressive. I think I'll hang onto this save game and find some vampire quests if I can. I had some difficulty at first, having decided to rest outdoors at about eight in the morning, but it's quite fun.
