No dude. Those are Shintoists.
Actually, those are the warrior monks from "Shogun Total War" and in their description it says they are fanatical Buddhist monks.....I would know, I have said game in my room....

Are you seriously of the opinion that Protestants don't hold to the doctrine of the Trinity? It's the *primary* thing that sets mainstream Protestant denominations apart from groups such as LDS, Unitarian, the Mormon church, etc. (which are considered 'cults' and theologically aborent by both Protestants and Catholics precisely due to their rejection of this doctrine). Not trying to be argumentative or split hairs, but it's a huge distinction, and certainly not an issue of division between Catholics and Protestants.
Hopefully you're using the term 'Catholic' to mean 'universal' as it was originally intended.
Quote:
As a matter of fact, a local church I used to go to didn't even attribute God-hood to Jesus saying that in the scriptures he distinguished himself from God many times ("it is not I that am good but the Father whom sent me", etc...)
People often make this mistake because they're reading an english translation - Jesus is almost killed several times in the gospel accounts by the Jews for claiming to be equal with God. He repeatedly uses the term 'YHWH' in reference to himself - the name the Hebrews considered to be the most revered name of God in the writings of Moses. It was a crime punishable by death in the first century law of the Sanhedrin.
Again, not trying to split hairs or be condescending, but if you're discussing religion, those are two huge issues that you seem to be misinformed about.

I have no real opinion on the matter considering I'm neither totally learned in the matter nor a Christian. My original statement was an observational one from the viewpoint of someone who was dragged by his then-girlfriend to several churches where only the Catholics among them preached about the Trinity. Maybe the rest took such a thing for granted or maybe they realized that an infinite God should have infinite incarnations and forms, but whatever...
