Yeah, already tried that, thanks.

It's interesting that people argue this was a prank by Meyer. If he was able to plan this event - what exactly does that prove?

Zaccheus:
I'm shocked. You mean to tell me that his Attorney and fellow organizers support his claims?
This changes everything. Or not.

Thats the point, it proves nothing except that its very easy to bait the police then video tape the beat down ... and subsequent handcuffing.
Did you read his webpage? Meyer pulls stunts like this for attention. Scroll up for the link.
What I find interesting is - the university damn well knows that this sort of thing happens all the time ... why even have police at these events if the audience presents no threat to the speakers? Then when this sort of thing happens the first thing the university does is throw the police (effin pigs!) under the bus.
Want real police brutality? Look at whats going on in Brussels

The man under arrest was Frank Vanhecke, president of the Flemish secessionist party Vlaams Belang and a member of European Parliament.
In a photo that should be titled The New Face of Fascism, we see black-clad Belgian policemen brutalizing a man in a light-colored suit and tie. His hands are cuffed behind his back, his right elbow is clasped in what is known as an arm-bar hold, and he is also being subjected to a genital hold – a vicious grip that, a retired cop friend of mine tells me, would get any American policeman thrown off the force.

Holy hell,
The article photo alone hurt like the dickens.

Since he did, in fact, plan the event, [...]
He came in there full knowing he would get booted out
Wait a sec, did he say that himself? Or are you a judge now, Jones? Because last time we spoke you were enthused to live out your fascination with guns by becoming fighter pilot, not?
You know, I'd call you a "loon" any day, still that doesn't mean you lost your right of freedom of speech. Heck you could even have a website with a few daft pranks on it, like what? Millions of people? Are they all discredited now? Second class citizens by what law?
And you still don't get that it doesn't matter whether Meyer planned the event. It may matter for our perception of whether he is an attention whore, or someone to look up to or whatever. But the cops overreacted in any case.
Shouldn't they be able to deal with a situation like this in a more level-headed way? I mean, that guy may have been annoying and a prankster and whatnot, but was he a threat to anyone?
Let him yell at John Kerry! Is the senator not man enough to deal with someone saying "blow job"? By his own account he was. He was trying to answer the questions. So why did it have to end like this? The forum was over anyway. Couldn't you just let him ramble on and everyone goes home, laughing about that weirdo? De-escalation.
It sure didn't look like he would get a "riot" together any minute now did it?
Now he has a riot going on. There are student protest marchs and people wearing "Don't taze me, bro!" t-shirts on the campus. Well done. Great strategy. Next time shoot him and make him a martyr, that's the only way to beat what happened there.

Protesters have learned to gauge how far they can push until the police overreact. It [beating video] makes for great publicity and enhances public sympathy towards the victim and by doing so creates the illusion of support for the victims political cause.
Wearing "don't tase me, bro" t-shirts is the perfect example of the victim/message - some people are wearing the shirts as a joke and find it a funny riff along the lines of " internet hipness/Youtube" styled humor while others are wearing the shirt as a serious " the Reichstag is on Fire" type of political message.
I will state this clearly: the police overreacted and should never have tased the moron. Meyer is a nutbar and will someday get his just desserts IE: mouthing off to a stranger and getting his teeth kicked in. I hope that day comes soon.

And that's really all that needs to be said, to be honest.

If I were placing someone and couldn't get the handcuffs on them because they were physically resisting arrest, I'd probably skip the taser and go straight for the billy club to the back of the head.
Sympathy for people who physically interfere with police = 0

It's awesome to finally see someone around here with principles.
