Sure, they're not commies anymore, but they're still the only serious opposition to the US. Between Satan and a street thug, I'll choose the street thug. He might screw me over, but at least I'll get to keep my soul.
Seriousy, you absolutely have no idea what you are talking about.
Live at least few years in Russia and then few years in the USA. As ordinary human.
PS: and they mostly are still commies, not practically though, сoz f.e. Sweden or Finland are much closer to communism than Russia, but they subconsciously and often publicly self-identify themselves as such, and I accept their self-identification with respect. Let them be commies as they want. The problem with that is that they
think that what they are building is something different than one of the wildest and cynical capitalism in the world. Just look at poor/rich difference in putin's Russia, I even don't mention supposed equality before the law and supposed political competition.

And those things are somehow better in the US? Seriously? A country that can't even offer basic health insurance to its people? A country with the highest prison population on earth? With the highest proportion of adult males incarcerated? With 30% of those being black people? The same black people being gunned down routinely by white cops? And you talk about equality before the law? A country with a two-party system, one center right, and the other far right? The same two parties that have been in place for the last 200 years? Where the result of the Presidential election is determined by the size of the candidates' bank account?
I'll stop derailing your thread when you stop spewing such bullshit.

Seriously.
Russia's official statistics service, Rosstat, states that 122,751 Russians left the country in 2012, 186,382 in 2013, 308,475 in 2014. Most or many of them left for the USA and EU. How many
native (not former citizens of USSR or Russia) USA or EU citizens left for Russia? Except Snowden who already understood his stupidity. Lets compare.

Good for them. They'll join the ranks of the 30 million Americans living under the poverty line, or the 2 million adult males living in prison. If not, they have a pretty good chance of getting shot. Better them than me.

Dema - huh I find that surprising, I feel most Poles are still prejudiced against Russians (way more than Germans), especially after the recent presidential plane crash going to Russia and Putin's moves on Ukraine/
Croatia.
What do you mean? Did Russia do something to
Croatia?

BTW, how long did
you live in Russia? Where? When? What did you do?

I think he meant Crimea and the spell check on his phone changed it. It makes sense because he used a / with Ukraine.
My main observation is, poor Poland. Even a thread dedicated to it & its woes still turns into a thread about Russia, or Russia vs the US in the end.

Yep, let's assume all those people want to be shot and live under poverty line, let's assume all they are crazy and there is almost no poverty in Russia. But then, why almost no native USA or EU citizens move to Russia, where it's much better as you believe. Either all they are crazy too, or.... someone else from this thread watches Russia Today or something like that too much.
Didn't you think about moving to North Korea by chance? Heaven on Earth, coz while in Russia only about 90% hate or at least have negative attitude towards America (there is even a joke due to their believing that America is the cause of almost all their internal problems: "never Russian people lived as bad as during Obama's rule"), in North Korea it's 100%. You'll be right amongst your soul mates.

Perhaps. But it's strange a bit that no one has noticed and vocalized that.

I think everyone here knows why such derails happen so often :(.

Except I never said Russia was a perfect place. All I said is, they don't kill as many civilians on foreign soil as the US does, they are not as big warmongers as the US, they are not as big weapon manufacturers as the US, and they are much more respectful of international law than the US (not a hard thing to do as the US simply tramples over it daily). That the US is worse than Russia does not mean Russia = Heaven on earth.
And the reason people emigrate to the US in droves is simply because of Hollywood and the "American Dream". American culture exports itself very well, and you know it. The same reason why there are Coca Cola vending machines in the shittiest of African countries, and Mc Donald's all over the place in China.
Tell me, what's the last Russian movie that played in American theaters? Here in France it's about 50% American movies in cinemas. On TV and radio it's about 90% American culture and values. I mean fucking Star Wars just came out and the whole nation is waiting in line to see it. They don't know why they have to see it, they just have to. Even my 3-year-old niece, who's never seen a Star Wars movie, wants to see it.
Why do you think the third act of every major blockbuster coming out of Hollywood in the last few years takes place in China or Asia? Because they're desperate to conquer that market. It's what they do, they eradicate cultures by shoving their own shitty values down other nation's throat.

Gee, I wonder why that is. Kinda like maybe the rest of the world? Have you asked Asians how they feel about Americans? Have you asked Libyans, Irakis, or Syrians how they feel about the US? I'm pretty sure American tourists are hated the world over.

Who's using hyperbole now? And the same old "I don't agree with you so I'll just compare your point of view to Hitler's to discredit you". Keep your blinders on, and keep eating those Big Macs.
