After getting the quest to deliver the King's message to
the Troll King, I went looking. I can't find the SOB:mad:
I've jumped over both trolls, explored the mines and delved
all the way back to the beginning and back knocking over
unstable walls and looking in every corner. At this point,
I am looking for some hints. I am reluctant to go too deep
into the mines and everytime I surface all the trolls are hostile
and relentless.
Also I don't even have a saved game from way back there
in the beginning. I read a couple of other threads that suggest
that I now have to start over as the game quests are now
completely FUBARed. All I want to know at this point is:
Is that true? Do I have to start over again?
And, if so, where is the SOB? And why won't the &(*&#^
trolls let me into look for him?
I think that if you can permanently screwup the quest system,
that's NOT a "feature".

Whoa there! Let's take deep breaths. :p
OK, to answer your question, Pog is in the Troll mines/city. You can give the letter to the troll at the gate and he will let you in. From there, go in through the mouth of the cave and start searching around. You should pass two trolls around a fire to get to the king.
As to restarting the game, you shouldn't have to unless you have killed a group of characters, and even then you may not have to. Good luck finding the King. And if you need more help, you know where to find me! :D

Hummm,
I haven't found the Troll City yet. From the king and the librarian, I assumed it was on level 3 but I think I've explored most of level 3 and parts of 4 and 5.
And everytime I get near a troll, they attack me. Can I still give one of them the message? Does it matter which one (because they are all in a group chasing me around and I don't know which is which)?

That may be a problem. The troll mines are on level 3, right across from the goblin castle. If the trolls are already hostile you do have a problem, which may require you to restart. There is hope however. There is an imprisoned troll in the troll mines which you can release. In exchange for his freedom, he will clear the path for you! As long as you haven't killed him you are in good shape and won't have to restart Arx.

The pooch was screwed...
It was easier to just start over. I missed Pog because his guards were chasing me.
