Holly shit it's out already?! Congrats, can't wait to hear, will get to it tomorrow night probably.
edit: lol I just heard the confued section about me mentioning Better Red Than Dead. I had no idea what that even was before this podcast lmao. I was referencing something I've read or heard, that the dungeon levels and zombies of the first thief were a product of the devs not being too confident about a game about thievery being that fun, so inspired by Tomb Raider and similar adventures, they also leaned in that direction. Maybe I just invented it. Missed oportunity there, sorry for not being more clear!

I finished the LoTP podcast today at work. I've listened to all of them now until the next one. I was skeptical when I started the first podcast but there's so much great material in all of them. Thanks for doing all that work.

thank you! Glad that you stayed after the first episodes - my experience is that every podcast needs to find its groove - which we found since Psych0sis entered and Jake&Seth are a perfect addition after Psych0sis left :) next epsiode(s) are planned but for different reasons (my health for example) some things have to be delayed like another episode with Dana Knightingale - at the moment we try not to go to big with guests etc. but things will change for the better I'm sure

I love Precious Cargo and think it is the most underrated mission in Thief 2. It rarely gets mentioned as a top mission, but I think it deserves more attention.
Pros:
- Great atmosphere, not only from rain and fog, but also from the tight corridors and claustrophobic cave systems. It reminds me a bit of Cragscleft in that regard, which is always a plus.
- Difficulty. Challenging missions usually has a higher replay value for me.
- Ambience. I love the tense background music, especially in the later caves.
- Unique setting. No other mission is even remotely similar in design or purpose. It's also different from most fan missions I have played; Katharsis being a great exception.
- Markham's pirate ship! 'Nuff said.
Cons:
- A bit linear in parts.
- Loud elevators and bay doors. The fact that these don't alert guards always break immersion for me.
- Not much story progression, since you don't actually get to find Cavador until the next mission.
