Someone else had a problem like this, for some reason it wasn't showing all the PMs, I suggested they try this link:

and that did the trick, maybe it'll help you as well?

I can replicate the error by shutting down my browser and starting it again. Every time I get a new PM notification pop-up, although there are no new PM:s.

I doubt it's due to my browser; I haven't changed it for months (Opera 6.05), and I noticed this behaviour just yesterday. Then again, I've been away for a couple of weeks.

Have you tried logging out of the forums completely (including manually deleting temp internet files and cookies) and logging back in? Maybe that'll help...

Although screech is prolly right, and GBM has something to do with it ;)

Hmm. I logged out, cleared all cookies and caches, shut down the browser and restarted it, logged in, and now it seems to work fine again.

I'll report back if the error occurs again.

if cookies have anything to do with it, it's Hanse's fault.
