I'm basically re-iterating the idea frm another post, sorry for plagarizing!
A plugin for a character owned store would be sooo great.
It comes with a shopkeeper.
You have to buy the store for say $25,000.
From then on, you can "sell" your items to your shopkeeper for which you receive nothing. However, every hour of game time there is a percentage change that an item in the shopkeepers inventory is sold to some random NPC (it in effect just disappears from the inventory) for it's value (maybe factor some random speechcraft bonuses etc).
Whenever you talk to your shopkeeper you have the option to select "Give me all your money" from the conversation list, at which point you get the proceeds from the sale of your item.
I've never opened the editor yet....does this sound do-able?

I don't know If it can be done coz I haven't played around with the editor either but at least I would like to have something like that implented in the form of a plugin. A very nice idea! IMHO :D

bumping for the first and last time on this thread. I'm going to go home toady and start working on this mod. Any ideas for functionality are welcome, as well as links to reference docs not easily found by using search on this forum.

Well, that's ound very cpable, f oing, it'd probably take you awhile thinking of haivng t learn the scripting laguage and the figuring ou how to total the vlue of all itms given an giving that much mney and time blah blah... but it's more tedious tham itwill be difficult. The edtor can d almost anything short of changing the physics of the ngine and the coest of features... but really just bout anything is possible if you tke enugh time to cozy up to sriptng.

thankies for seeing my idea as a good one charlie!! hope you manage to make it work!
What i was also thinking is this!
Could u create an NPC house builder for the game ( or many ) who upon meeting him will offer to build you a house anywhere in morrowind! What i was thinking is this you give him the dimensions and the style of house you want and he "builds" it using the editor and then gives you the "plans" which become a plugin in for your desktop, the next time you play you can add it and bingo there is your house ??
does this sound at all feasable??
Hidden in shadows on 26/6/2002 at 12:31
could be...
I was thinking that there would be a pre defined area where you could buy the house. You would then speak to a certain npc and tell him what kind of house you want. The bigger and nicer the more it would cost.

If the rest of the island's real-estate is like the three properties you get from the Houses, the following seems inevitable:
"Vvardenfell Real Estate: Where your home is always somewhere inconvenient"
"We have a nice fixer-upper on the coast of the Bitter Coast, just south of Gnaar Mok. Sure, there's mudcrabs and nix houds, but you just don't see construction like this anymore... something a little more isolated you say? We can set you up with a house that's been recently vacated in the northwest portion of scenic Sheograd. Oh, too far? Can I interest you in a cozy Dwarven ruin just north of the famed Ghostgate?" ;)
But yeah, hidden in shadows is right, that's probably the best option; you should be able to build a few different houses on the same plot of land, and just activate the one that the client buys (kind've how the Telvanni house is 1st just a mushroom w/ crystals, then a small place, then a large one). Or, you can probably build on additions like Hllalu's is done, and (in the interior) just disable the door (which hides it from the player) to the 'extra' areas until they're purchased, like (I think) Redoran does for a basement.
Dark Phaeri on 27/6/2002 at 20:13
Sounds like a grand plan, i just thought the builder option was best due to the plugin clashes that could occur with predefined houses
Forsythe on 27/6/2002 at 20:28
Hrm... I wasn't suggesting multiple plugins, I was suggesting one plugin with multiple houses built on the same plot of land, and disable all houses except the one purchased. Btw, if I'm reading your original idea correctly, it's extremely unfeasible but not impossible if the coder is a bit manic (the scripting language isn't a "real" programming language, it's a bit simplistic). I was simply trying to suggest a cleaner and more feasible approach, but if you can find someone insane enough to try, more power to you ;)
