Plug-in Dilemma... - by Hopkins

Hi folks,
I'm just about to start to play Morrowind. I will obviously patch it up to the latest version but I was wondering if I should install any of the official plug-ins immediately. As I understand it, these plug-ins just provide additional things like side quests and items so I thought that maybe I should include them from the start...
Does anyone have any reasons to advise me one way or another?
Many thanks!

If you're planning on getting these plugins at some point you might aswell install them right away.Look at then unofficial plugins to cause there's alot of good stuff out there.

Thanks, I'll have a look. Any recommendations for unofficial plug-ins? Any with bugs affecting the main storyline that should be avoided?

Any recommendations for unofficial plug-ins?
Dracandros Voice 2.68
Vivec Expansion 1.1
Vivec Abode 0.927
Atmospheric Sound Effects 3.0 Update 3
More Trees and Foliage 1.1
Freelancer 1.1
Juniper's Twin Lamps 1.1
Multiple Teleport Marking 1.227
All excellent plugins, and they don't screw the main quest, or any other quest line. The Twin Lamps mod, however, does make some references to a few slave-related quests and assumes that you have completed the main quest before winning the Temple's support (otherwise, Vivec will not even consider speaking with you, much less considering a ban on slavery). With a slightly less enthusiastic recommendation comes Morrowind Advanced. Also try a no-glow and signpost retexturing mod if those particular aspects of the game have bothered you (enchantment glow and unreadable signs, respectively). They can all be found at Morrowind Summit, but be warned that for the downloads over about 255k have to be completed through FilePlanet.

Passive Healthy Wildlife, for those of you that like to sit on the grazelands watching the beasts wander. Diseased creatures still attack, but otherwise they leave you alone unless you get up close . Or attack them.
Travelling Merchants adds a little life to the roads.
Some sort of mana regen based on your willpower/intelligence balances mage v warrior a bit as well. There are loads of them out there. Choose one depending on how powerful you want to be ;)
I'd also recommend changing the (
http://www.ttlg.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=66058) lighting settings. It looks a whole load better, and some have claimed performance increases. Just put those settings in your morrowind.ini file instead of the current ones.
Archmage fix is vital as well, if you're going down that route.

From this it sounds like the standard release is a little bit biased against mages?

Yes warriors is waaay easier to play.

The game is easy enough as it is, so I wouldn't choose a character on that basis.
And you don't need to choose! Have all the plugins :D
