If you're having to explain what your point was, that should indicate you weren't clear before. More likely is you're just back-pedalling.
Also, since Vivian was hitting on the exact same point as both Thirith and I, I'd say it's highly likely he also read it.
Learn how to communicate with other humans, it's a life skill.

Yeah, I didnt want to quote the whole thing, and it looks now, if everyone scrutinizes for some, strange, reason... yeah the quote looks funny. I suppose I was initially dumbfounded at the fact that people here were actually going into such detail to prove that I am not hedonicflux's #1 fan. When I quoted "my most valued critic", I guess I should have quoted the whole sentence, where I was included in that duo of hedon fans. My bad! But the ensuing investigation just goes to show that TTLG will fight just about any fight, not matter how asinine it may seem!

It's hardly a fight to point out an error. It's not like there was spite or ill-feeling involved. Also a few keystrokes while waiting for toast to burn is hardly a big deal.

Yes, so we've figured out that "my most valued critic" wasn't in reference to Goldmoon. My most valued critic is a member of a community I've been a part of for far longer than TTLG. He provided the citicism of my first draft that led to this version, which he thinks is ready for submission. But I will say, Goldmoon seems to be the only person besides him who doesn't find himself always insulted or put off in some way by my work. Now all that's needed is for him to provide an actual criticism of something I make, and if I value it similarly, he'll be my #2.
As for the essay I'm considering adding one paragraph to the beginning to yet further try to capture the interest of readers who would otherwise be unsure or lose interest after being unsure where the essay is going after three or so paragraphs. If I do, I'll consult with all of you and my most valued critic (let's call him Bowflex for now) to see where we stand.
