Every now and then I want to link to a certain post here at TTLG, and not just the thread + "read the 11.th post on the 3.rd page" comment. I'm sick of it, and it should be solved pretty easily.
Make some sort of a perma link in every post. Each post have got it's own id anyway, and I think it should be included somewhere in the post so people easily could copy the link.
Inline Image:
http://modetwo.net/forumscreens/permalink.gifI suggest that you turn the post (new/old) icon into a perma link also, see picture above. It will make it so much easier to link people to a post and not just the thread where the post is. Another suggestion is to make a perma link button, like we've done at (
http://shadowguild.net/forums/viewtopic.php?p=2557#2557) our forums.
It isn't hard to edit the templates anyway, is it?
If no, please specify a valid reason. Thanks for your time. :)

That's not easy enough dude. You have to switch out editpost.php?s=&action=editpost&postid=909677 with showthread.php?s=&postid=909569#post909569. You call that easy?
I still think a perma link button is needed. ;)

Not necessarily needed but still much appreciated. :)

Right :)
The little folder icon in your image has now been made into the perma link. :)

Glad to be of service :)
Only mini bug is due to IE displaying alt tags as title tags it is showing "Old Post" or "New Post" as opposed to "Permanent link to this post.".
I shall have to hunt through the templates and give it a title tag especially for IE at some point. :)

IE is not the only browser displaying that as a title. I'm sure you can fix this.
Thanks again. :)
