I was planning to play some FMs for Thief 2, i deleted garretloader (cuz i have that database error) and i have uninstalled darkloader and thief 2. I wanted to start a clean install, however each time i run thief 2 i see the loading screen. And then it disappears and nothing happens, in taskmanager processes i see the thief2 process becoming visiblefor 2-3 seconds. But it disappears right after that, i am frustrated i cant play my fav game :tsktsk: dont know what to do? Is it possible that my windows installation is corrupt? like some systemfiles are missing, can i make a restore with XP SP2 cd? without touching my harddisk.?

- Try to reinstall all Windows drivers (video, sound ...)

- Try to update your Windows version to SP3 with "Windows Update".

- Don't forget to (re) install the Indeo 5 codec from T2 CD2.

thanks for the help, but i think i have found it :thumb: i have downloaded a no-cd and now it launches fast:S must be something wrong with the cd drive, its not launching from CD. Ill try to play some FMs now, i hope it works there too.

sounds like either your cd drive or your thief disc is knackered then..

i will have to order thief from ebay, ill get all of them just in case something happens again.:thumb:

Use DDFix. If the Thief games work fine, they will work better with DDFix installed.
