Please help! Just bought a new pc and having trouble with gamma with T2 [Solved] - by joinusnow22175

I just bought a new PC and I am having trouble adjusting the gamma for T2. I tried renaming the cam.cfg file but it did not work. I would greatly appreciate some help on fixing this problem. I'm not too tech saavy, so could someone please explain to me step by step the remedy for this problem. The main reason I bought a new pc was so I could play some of the new missions like Death's Turbid Veil and Keeper of Infinity, which my old pc would not support. Please help!:erm:

Same problem.
Gamma doesn't work for Thief 2.
Got the computer two months ago, installed recently. NVidia driver.
GoG Installer+Taffer patch+High Res Mod, plus nothing works...
Any hints?

Open up user.bnd in Notepad and make sure you see the bindings for gamma adjustments. Mine looks like this and is right at the top:
Code:
bind + gamma_up
bind , main_volume_down
bind - gamma_down
bind . main_volume_up
Since this is a new install, you probably want to copy the bindings file from your old PC to the new one so you have all your old bindings.

Everytime I could not adjust gamma it was because of a driver issue. make sure you have the latest drivers for your video card.

Did you try posting this in Thief Gen or Technical & Troubleshooting? :)

In the cam_ext.cfg file, look for this and remove the semicolon:
;d3d_disp_sw_cc

There's the option of editing cam.cfg and changing the value for gamma. I don't know if it's also dependant on other variables within the game.
gamma 1.15
Try changing the value (the higher the darker) and see if it works.

uncomment d3d_disp_no_rgb10_buf in cam_ext.cfg;
Code:
; by default it will try to use an enhanced 32-bit precision display mode, if the driver supports it, but
; there may be instances (like with integrated intel GPUs) where the driver does support it but it may not
; work correctly (such as gamma not working), this option will disable the use of enhanced precision
d3d_disp_no_rgb10_buf

Removing the semicolon from the d3d_disp_sw_cc line fixed the problem. Thank you so much for all of your help.:thumb:
