Please help! Can't Save game.

Ok first off here are my system specs:

Pentium 3 600Mhz
128 MB RAM
Voodoo 3

I've been playing Deus Ex without ANY problems for the past month or so since i got it. But just last night when i reached 08_NYC_Street it started acting up on me when i went to save my game. Instead of going to the save screen when I clicked on the save game option, it instead crashed and took me back to desktop with a message which said:

Critical Error

General Protection Fault!

The weird thing is this happens randomly with around 80% of the time it crashing. Other times it will allow me into the save game screen and save like normal. But its risky to continue playing like this since i've never finished Deus Ex before and i dont want to get far into the game and then go to save and find it crashing back to desktop. I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling but the problem still occurs. I've even tried starting a compltely new save file but the same thing happens. Does anyone know of a solution to this problem??? ':('

Oh and btw, my Deus Ex is game of the year edition so its patched up to 1112fm and I have all the latest drivers for my graphics card and the latest version of Direct X.

If you are using windows XP then that is your problem. You have the same computer i do. I updated my Video card drivers from, (www.voodoofiles.com) They seem to work GREAT with XP. They are third-party drivers but in some ways they are better. If you do this and you still have problems... I guess your S-O-L.

I have a problem with saving too. Everything was fine until this evening. I was just about to blow up the last seam in the ship when my games just refused to be saved anymore. I was on my way back to the roof in the dockyard when I was killed, and suddenly realised that none of my games had been saved since the last seem. The screen tells me that the saving is being done, but there's nothing registering after 0730. Can someone please help me with this. If I can't save anymore I might as well give up. There's no way I can complete this in one flawless sitting. :confused:

I can't save anymore either. The game doesn't crash, it just refuses to save. Actually it even looks like its saving, but when I get myself killed the loading-display shows that my last save 0730 which is not the case. I had at least ten saves after that. I tried restarting the game, but problem is still there. What to do, what to do? Please help me. I'll never be able to complete it without saving. :confused:
