...But why, WHY IN THE NAME OF ALL THAT IS HOLY do we feature morrowind and oblivion here, but not the godlike FEAST of spiritual-successor-to-Thief that is Assasins creed?
Not to rant or anything, i just thought is was really a very wierd and disturbing thing. :nono:

Why isn't my favourite unreleased game that's not really a part of the LGS legacy in any way and probably won't have any modding capabilities featured on this site
Hint: it's probably because an Assassin's Creed forum would have three topics and fourty posts.

There are some very good reasons that i based my question on, here's some tailored to your rather rude response:
1. It is very close to being a spiritual successor to thief, mainly in gameplay style. Sneaking about at night, robbing people, jumping about on ledges and climbing ropes, etc etc, whats not Thiefy about that?
2. Morrowind and oblivion have absolutely nothing to do with LGS, and oblivion is a terrible game, so why are they here when a game like Assasins creed is not? Morrowind was an interesting excercise in how to make a tech-demo, and while it had many redeeming qualities in the gameplay area, its storyline was visible from the moment you got to Caius and then it became a dreary trudge to the ending. Oblivion has some extension to that gameplay, but is unrealistic, unfun, and downright nothing but eye-candy in some parts. So why, when they have nothing to do with the LGS legacy, are they here?
3. Dark messiah has nothing to do with the LGS legacy, but it seems to have the same kick-ass LGS style, so it got a board. Why should Assasins creed not, when it also plays very much like an LGS-style game?
4. Arx fatalis, while epitomizing the LGS underworld legacy, has absolutely no modding capabilities. So, using your logic, why is it here?
And there was no need to be rude, i was merely curious. Hence why i asked for forgiveness for any ignorance contained within? :tsktsk:

To me Assassin's Creed looks like it would be great to play - once or twice, it doesn't look like it has the replay-ability of other titles.
In addition there just doesn't seem to be much interest in it on these forums. Sure there's the "this game looks cool" vibe but that's about it.

Oblivion is a terrible game
The people who post in the oblivion forums will tell you otherwise.

Gameplay wise, oblivion is horrible compared to other games, even compared to morrowind. But meh, as i said before, i was merely curious.

Assassin's Creed seems more like a spiritual successor to Hitman and Prince of Persia than Thief to me. The emphasis is on combat and infiltration via disguises and trying to blend in, whereas Thief is all about being totally undetected and avoiding combat. And what Dave said.
Dark Messiah seems to display many of the LGS ideals - a strong and coherent world, huge emphasis on immersion and nonlinear gameplay the player can approach in the way he wants to. Assassin's Creed may or may not have some LGS elements in it, it's pretty hard to say until we've actually played it.
Arx Fatalis, again, could almost be made by LGS themselves. It's an unofficial sequel to Ultima Underworld, after all.
Morrowind forums are here because TTLG is hosting the (
http://morrowind.ttlg.com/) Destination: Morrowind site - hence forums for the sequel were more than logical, not to mention I think there were a few ex-LGS people working on it.
But of course all forum decisions are up to admins v:)v
