I'd better mention first of all that I did search the forums (and the official forums) for help before posting here, in case I earn myself a rebuke from our benevolent patriarch Forsythe :-)
I'm having problems with the LeFemm armor plugin-I can only find one location in the game where I can successfully buy the armor (I'm assuming that there are several different types of female armor available.) I managed to get a set from the woman in Ald'Ruhn which I'm very pleased with but when I went to the Fighters Guild in Vivec they wouldn't sell me any because my rank with them is too low. Fair enough but according to the readme file it should also be available from "the lady-smiths in Ald Velothi and Sadrith Mora." I can't even find a female smith in Sadrith Mora and the one in Ald Velothi doesn't have any armor, only a few weapons. I have tried the guy in Ebonheart as well and the game crashes when I try to buy from him. The only other location given is the Redoran vaults-not entirely sure what this means-I assumed it merant the vaults in Redoran canton in Vivec, but that's like a tomb-the BoneLord who started flinging spells at me the minute I stuck my head round the door didn't seem too keen to sell me any armor anyway!
BTW I am playing with the unpatched version of the game.
I would really appreciate some help on this as it's starting to wind me up.

I would hazard a guess that you need to patch the game before you can use that plugin without errors as it came out after the Master Index plugin, which does require it.
Try patching the game and see if it solves any problems. (ie the crashing).
Just out of interest, why are you running the game unpatched? The patch solved all the problems I was having (particularly the "crash to desktop when loading new area")

I don't yet have Internet access on my home PC, so I can't download the patch directly, and it won't fit onto a floppy disk so I haven't been able to install it. I'm currently accessing the Internet from work. Shouldn't be too long before I get net access at home after which I'll definitely get the patch.

Ah, I understand. You can find the European 1.1 patch and the US 1.2 patch on this month's Pc Gamer and PC Zone has the Euro 1.1 as well - much easier than downloading it. It's well worth the install.

The lefemm plugin only adds 2 new sets of armor(1 isnt even a complete set, and its kind of ugly). One set is the domina set, which you can buy in ald-ruhn, the female smith standing outside next to the big shell, the female smith in sadrith mora who is standing outside close to the morag tong guild hall, and the female smith in ald velothi who is standing outside of the outpost. The second set is gold armor, which comes with a cuirass, helm, and pauldrons... you can find it in one of the vaults and for sale in the legion fort in ebonheart.
The plugin also edits some of the armors(cuirass) already in the game and when a female wears them, they have a different look. Netch leather, steel, imperial chain, imperial steel cuirass' have female and male versions.
