It sounds like you need to rebuild your BSP and Navmesh, Tithian. I think there should be instructions on how to do that in the tutorial somewhere. If you've changed the geometry you always need to do this, or else the game won't know about the changes. To see the cyan line between patrol points, you have to have a navmesh built, then just multi-select a couple of them to see the path between them.

Thanks! I got it all solved now.

I have not been using t3ed for that long but i already have a problem: i followed the tutorial about books and d'spairs tutorial about putting your mission on the 'new game' button, however my books and loading quotes are not found and the game always loads the Inn mission, even if i completely corrupt the entry file. i guess i have probably made a mistake early on. can anyone help me out

Did you 'Export map for game' both the entry map and your map? This creates a .gmp file which the game needs to be able to play them.
For the books, make sure the actual files have the .sch extension, but the property to set the books in the game must have the .txt extension (strange, I know). If you are using WinXP make sure you can see all file extensions, or else you won't be able to save the book files properly.

yep, both files are exported, and my books are .sch referred to as txt in the editor. even if I edit existing files, like the string tags: loading quotes, it still doesn't work, as if the game is reading old files...

Can you actually play any custom maps? (using the shortcut method in the official documentation.) If not, and you're using a dual install (ie, one copy of T3 for editing, another copy for playing), the registry entry that controls T3 could be pointing at the game copy instead of the editor one. You can use the Thief3Launcher program to set it.
If that doesn't seem to be the problem, the best thing to do is go through the tutorial again in case you missed something.

Every time I try to run T3Ed.exe, it pops up with an error message and wont allow me into the editor. the message says: "You must launch the Theif:Deadly Shadows Editor from the T3.exe with the "editor" commandline argument" I really don't quite know what to make of this, or how to fix it. Anyone have a suggestion?:grr:

Did you install it using the (
http://www.ttlg.com/wiki/) wiki instructions or (
http://www.shadowdarkkeep.com/essentials.htm) Komag's tutorial? Are you using T3Launcher? Also check in your running processes (press Ctrl-Alt-Esc) to make sure T3Ed.exe isn't already running, and use the End Process button on it if it is.

Could the editor help to fuse Garrett's head to his body so that when he turns, his head and body move together? Currently, the animation for his head in first person rotates about 90 degrees before the rest of his body moves, and I would like that angle to be 1 or zero. My goal is to eliminate the wonky sidestep he makes when turning and moving.

I don't believe so. It might be a setting buried in an INI file somewhere, but my instinct says not; if that were the case, New Horizon would surely have found it (he went through the INI files for the Minimalist Project with a fine-tooth comb even before T3Ed was released, after all, and I know he did try to tweak Garrett's movement). My guess is that it's either hard-coded (and therefore can't be changed, in practical terms), or specified by Garrett's bone structure (which we currently don't know how to edit AFAIK).
