No insult taking here :)
Yes, I followed the install guide at wiki fleshworks. I deleted the
T3Main.exe and renamed T3MainOptVersion.exe to T3Main.exe
That is the way it is supposed to be, right?
I tried disable the firewall but no result.
Does anybody else with a dual core system works with the editor?
The reason I aks is because more people seems to have problems running thief 3 with a similar system.
Also the only way I can run the editor at all is using winlauncherXp which runs Thief3Launcher which launch the editor. Yeah I know it is a work arround but so far it seems the only way to get the editor running at all.
O Yeah, when I try to go in game mode, I do get the loading screen. This is the appl. I have to hit the escape to exit. The editor self is still runing without problems. Just thought I should mention it.

If it's getting to the loading screen and stopping that might be the user.ini thing - try messing with the blockloading settings.
And remember to save the map, (and export for game first probably doesn't hurt) before you hit the play button...

That really sounds like my problem... It was totally the same. But as you said you havnt zonealarm installed. Perhaps you could try to run your map without Debug enabled. You can do this by creating a .bat file in [your T3Ed folder]\System and type "T3MainReleaseVersion.exe AutoPlay" in it. Now you can start the game without debug(which is must faster btw) by build >> send to xbox.
And sry for that *He*... ;)

You also need to call the .bat file "xbreboot.bat".

Damn didnt i say that? D'oh!!! :o

yeah but how and into what? I altered everything wikki fleshworks says.
I Also tried the .bat thing but again no results.
I do however found some new information what I am getting.
[INDENT]Localization: No localization: T3.General.Start (int)
Log: True Map Name :
Warning: Failed to load 'Level None.MyLevel': Failed to find object 'Level None.MyLevel'
Log: Viewport WindowsViewport__0: WM_DisplayChange

Hope this helpes.

Well, looks like I'm out of suggestions, unless you haven't played the main game yet and it's not got registry settings.
Single core system, see, so I haven't experienced the problem.
Sorry, but the only other thing I could even pretend to suggest is forcing it to use a single core for the game and editor.

Do you have spaces in your directory name? Not C:\Thief Edit\ but C:\ThiefEdit\
STiFU on 9/12/2005 at 23:46
It works for me WITH spaces. I have d:\programme\thief3 edit . I made some other tutorial about installing t3ED, in which it wasnt said that the folder should be named Thief3Edit, but it works fine...

There are problems with conversations if you have blank spaces, apparently... but the editor should still start up.
