I'm following Komag's TutT3 to install the Thief3 Editor. All proceeds fine and the Editor launches, but when I try to Play the Map (saved under a new name, etc.), it hangs at the Thief3 Loading screen. I've tried this a couple times now, following the installation steps to the letter and this always occurs upon the first testing.
Old message threads refer to this problem, but I never found any solution.
As before, when I go to play the normal install of the game, it hangs too. Also, when I launch it, none of the intro stuff plays either (I normally just hit ESC 5 times). It's almost as if the normal game is using the Editors copy of the User.ini.
I do use Zone Alarm, but it's been given permission. I've tried with it off but have the same issue.
I also have an ATI Radeon card, but this doesn't seem to be a video issue.
At this point, it appears that I'll have to uninstall & reinstall Deadly Shadows again just to play fan missions, but I was hoping someone might point me to a solution BEFORE I try installing the Editor again.
Thanks,
Mark

You mean you can't play any maps loaded through the editor? Official ones or your own? I'm not sure how to fix that but I have had the same problem playing DS and FMs since having T3Ed installed. As far as I can remember I think I opened the T3Ed launcher but clicked on 'Launch TDS' instead of 'Launch Editor'. It loaded up fine then and I could open GL and install and play FMs as normal. You could also try deleting all the stuff in your TDS folder in My Documents except for the save files. Everything else is just T3Ed-related junk and is unnecessary.

Note that you need the latest version of ThiefLauncher, the one with four buttons (don't know if Komag has replaced them on his site).
If you have followed the tutorial you will have deleted the bik video files, thus there should be no intros. If it happens with the real game (though), it sounds like it's running the T3Ed version of it and then things get messed up.

...Also remember to delete everything from the TDS folder in My Documents except the savegames - it helps quite often.

Although this might be one of my posts causing only shoulder shrugging because no one knows how to say something tangible...
I just stumbled across the Skeleton Browser (thanks for your PlayerAnim tutorial, Ziemanskye) and found those really nice finishing moves for example (Flux might be knowing why :sly:). Now I was interested if there was a way to make a new AI/Skeletal/whatever to include them (you know, usually guards just put their swords back) and began to read a couple of threads about animations and all that complicated stuff. I saw ascottk's explorations about making Garrett's movement better (although his Animations Tweaker caused a strange moonwalk the last time I tried it) and some stuff about that rope climb animation and of course New Horizon's MP and T3EnhancEd ambitions to include all that new material, so again I wondered why no one cared to unearth all those things that have been found out two years ago. I PMed New Horizon a couple of times and also asked him about the T3EnhancEd, but he only said he would have a look at it in time.
Most download links are dead, most of the guys gone and this handful of T3 mappers around here is already busy (like Abru, to come back to the Skeletal issue).
New Horizon, do you still have an overview about what became of all these projects? What features would T3EnhancEd include if you managed to get it released? I'm not writing you one more PN because maybe someone else wants to join me in begging you (:p), but I'm getting a little unsatisfied every time I dive in these older threads. :erg: And what new things will the Cabal contain, to name just one of the ventures dating back to these older days? Am I sounding a little too ardent?

I guess begging NH doesn't make much sense, he really has tons of much more important work to do ;) It would be safe to assume that he'll never get back to that project and leave him alone.
Btw. Cabal won't contain that many novelties, really. Of course, we have many of custom objects, materials, maybe sounds, etc. but the gameplay is pretty standard, IMO.

Questions are for free, as we say, so begging won't do any harm. Plus, he was among those who picked quite a lot on qckbeam who forgot to scan and share the rest of this journal, saying things like

...but this is the Thief community and we DO have a responsibility to each other. We're keeping the spirit of this game alive.
...and I would be surprised and heavily disappointed if he would just ignore that he has something that we could use well. :)

Well, don't get me wrong, but you are the only person who'd like to use T3EnhancED, and that's probably the case. The rest is likely to stay with vanilla install (myself included, yet I got some modifications here and there).

Correct. I loaded the map mention in the Tut (Castle1), saved under new name then clicked on the Editor's Play Map icon. It proceeds as described but once it gets to the actual Thief Loading screen, it hangs and I have to use Reset to power down system. I can't even bring up Task Manager.
I haven't tried (yet) purging stuff under My Documents.

Hmmm. Thought I had the latest but it only has the split windows for Editor and Game with Launch buttons at the bottom. I left it open too after the Editor launched.
Afterwards, the same happens with the game install too even if I select the EXE file directly.
