I just re-designed a simple street section and after re-texturing a certain surface/wall, it vanished as if it was BF-blanked or assigned with the fake backdrop property. I've checked both possibilities, built several times, changed the texture, but I can still look into the skybox in both render mode and in the game itself. Is there anything that could still cause this issue? The BSPs should be OK, there is no flickering either, just as if there was one more property changed. But I have no idea. :weird:

If you've physically rebuilt it, there's a chance you've accidentally messes up the brush order on something and kind sliced the face out of the world by accident (normal BSP error).
Or in doing so you've created a pocket of null-space where the game wont let you place any brushwork until you've recreated the correct abitrarily distant other piece of BSP. (kind of like a BSP-error causing a HoM somewhere on the other side of the level, only even more annoying: Schism had a few of these. I'm not sure if I sorted them or just redesigned around them)

In fact I only made the three brushes (with this special one in the middle) a little higher and the first brush broader, but I'll have a look at them again. Thanks. :)

This can be solved by using tools, check for out of grid BSP, fix all, recompile.
If you try to do some funny angled vertex adjusting it may not go away at all, even if you make the brushes semi solid.

You can make subtract brushes semi-solid? As I said, the whole brushwork is clean (or should be), the report-off-grid feature always messes things up for me - the BSP holes appear after that. I'll have a look at it today, hopefully, and try to let every single corner snap to grid. Just in case.

Same here. I did a "Report all off-grid brushes" and it totally screwed up my mission. I rebuilt nearly the whole thing with each brush aligned perfectly and it still says there are loads of brushes unaligned (  :weird: )

I moved it around, re-sized it several times, deleted it and copied a new one into the same position, checked all the corners and it's still the same. I finally made it BF and placed one of Flux's houses into it. Static meshes are good against aggression. :p

I've found that the report off-grid thing works best of the grid size is first set to 1.

People must develop an habit of making several maps when saving the file, if you screw up something, you can go back to the other previous version.

I just tried that and it seems to be ok, CrackedGear. Thanks.
I started a new mission and made a couple of rooms tonight. I aligned the two subtractive brushes perfectly on the grid but when I reported all off grid brushes it showed the second room as being off-grid.
I zoomed in and it was fine. Why would it do this?
Thanks,
SS
p.s I do save my maps under a different name incase one gets messed up beyond repair.
