When my skybox issues occurred, I took a copy of my map and deleted large sections of it, saving and rebuilding it each time. Eventually, I discovered that it was the skybox that was causing the problem. I went back to my original map, moved the skybox away and the issue disappeared. It may have been simply the forced rebuilding of the skybox that sorted it or its proximity to the main map area, but either way it worked. I also remember GBM (I think) mentioning in one of the old, old threads that the skybox should be kept well away from the main area, so maybe it is a known issue of some kind.
Even if it's not the skybox, the method of deleting parts of the map to test may help you locate the problem, Beleg.

I had the same feeling that it was just some kind of teething trouble. I copied the brush, deleted the old one, put the new one in and ordered the added overhang brush "to last". Now it works, thanks again everyone.
Different issue: Ever since I used the debug mode to test the flying mode, the "Send to xBox" command seems to be buggy. I hear no sound but it is not the real debug mode either. Only when I "restart" my mission (it loads the Cradle for some reason) I can fly and do all the crazy stuff. Will I have to repeat Komag's steps to build me a command that starts a game WITH sound etc.?

Nevermind, my sound card driver seems to be a little sensitive.
Are there any big hammers like the ones from T1/2 or is there only this thin hammer from the STATUES folder?
And I have the problem of an overhanging building that somehow blocks the nav mesh of the street below although there is enough space in between for Gamall to jump through. Any ideas?
Ah, even a third one: In case I won't find it myself... I wanted to change the colour of the (big) light shafts, but altering one of those colours that seemed to be maximum values in the properties did not work. I think I won't have to add a new property since there must already be one, but I couldn't find it.
Looking forward to your answers. :)

You have to change the color property in the emitter. There are 2 emitters in lightshaft, I played around the first one(0) and it changed. Under emitter-beamemittermylevel-color-color scale. Just experiment with them.

Which mesh is it? and what its' physics hull set to?

It's a narrow but high one that str8g8 made. Since I only place them excessively in the map, I have hardly an idea what's going on with them. But even if there was a large invisible box around it, it could not have touched the street.
PS: The navmesh problem is solved after moving the SMesh a little upwards (I think...) and I also found the right colors. There is something to evening light...

I don't want to "brush" one because they were already past this point in DromEd, but there seems to be only this little flat one in the browser. :( By the way, do you think we could use a custom objects thread as a trading place, especially for those who do not have 3D Studio Max 5?

Beat STiFU with PMs, he was planning a smesh-swapping website ages ago then got distracted (I think he started university :p)

I did.
I know I usually don't ask any important things, but am I right that T3 editing is a rather European issue (being ignorant as I am I count the UK as a part of Europe, too ;))?

Why is it always me asking questions here...? :weird:
Anyway, although it seems that this might be an issue for the ThiefGen discussion, I think you guys can help me more here: When I wanted to test my invisible enforcers (yes, I somehow figured it out) in the real game, I noticed a strange bug, similar to the one in some FMs (on some occasions) when Garrett's mechanical eye is broken: The compass characters smear if I move the mouse, the screen freezes and starts shaking and gets clear again when I stop moving the perspective. It doesn't occur in FMs (I tested it with Hearts & Minds), so I thought I'd just change the user.ini (most of all the vertex pools, the only difference except for the BlockLoading orders which I also changed) and replace the gamesys with the Hearts & Minds one, for I could not imagine something from the CONTENT folder as the cause for this bug, but however I had no success.
I had John-P's textures installed and tried the MP twice which always leaves me with strange squares in the tutorial mission and I can imagine some of my bumbling around is to be blamed for it, but I don't want to re-install the whole game just for maybe one file that got messed up. The game works slightly better with MP installed (probably because of the altered mouse sensitivity), with Bloom activated TDS does not even go back from menu to game mode. Has anyone experienced this before?
Edit: Problem solved for now. After a couple of re-installs and meddling around I deleted everything from the folder where the savegames are except for those files that were clearly savegames. After that it worked and I even found out that I did not have the latest Thief Launcher (and neither did You-know-who whom I will drop a message, too). Let's see how long there's no problem.

Beleg - it's always you because I've only just found the forum. Wait for the deluge!!!!
Newbie question 1 - I enjoyed Thief 3 - more so than Thief 2, which seems to put me in a minority. So I downloaded the editor, and it's a joy to use. So why are there so few Thief 3 FMs? (In one day, I've managed to create the subterranean set of rooms for my own FM).
Newbie question 2 - Is there a comprehensive set of documentation in existence for the editor? I've seen the very good tutorials, but there remain a lot of gaps.
Newbie question 3 - I've seen one comment that Blender (which I have) can be used instead of 3dsMax (which I don't have) for meshes. Can anyone tell me how it can be used? (In particular, where are the import/export plug-ins?).
Newbie question 4 - Apart from doing an FM or two, I'm particularly interested in creating meshes and textures and making them available to the T3 community. Is there a depository for such things?
Okay - that'll do for now. So, hello all.
Cheers, Mike.

Ah well - I should have looked around this forum before asking the questions. Forget questions 1, 2 and 4. Question 3 is still a good one, though, Surely someone has created import/export plug-ins for Blender (he says with fingers crossed and holding his breath)?
