Yeah, but normally it's low fps that's bad.
As in it's only drawing say 4 frames every second, so playing the level feels rather more like a slideshow that's barely controllable.
High fps is usually good - things are nice and smooth at 30, even if it is a bit of a myth with this engine at times.

THANKS! I shall remeber it.:)

As usual I don't want to disturb, but maybe you can help me (I don't want to start a thread in Thief - Hints and Spoilers or here, at least as long as you do not ask me to). Didn't find anything using the search.
I have done some FM translations into German till now (some of you know) and now there's some time to continue this. During this work I had a lot of contact to all the *.sch files in the "books" or "sounds/schemas.../playerGarrett" directories. Yesterday I found a problem while testing my new files: The goals were invisible (and they were invisible before I started translating in general, because of the missing "lang_german" entry in the *.sch files...the main reason why I started translating at all....so it seemed like an old friend).
After doing a lot of deinstalling (GarrettLoader didn't work...runtime error, afterwards I found out that at least one of the runtime errors did occur because of a broken German language support) because I didn't know if there would be problems with all those extra tools like John-P textures, TDS tweaker, Minimalist Project. So...complete new Thief 3. But the objectives are still invisible. :erg: When checking the original PlayerGarrett directory, I mentioned that there were no original objective files at all (maybe the game gets them from the DVD?) and – as I concluded – there must be a kind of ini file which tells the game that it doesn't have to look into PlayerGarrett. The problem is...it won't work with the FM objectives either (of course the FM's objective are copied in that folder, as usual).
The thing I don't understand now is why there are no original objectives in PlayerGarrett (there can't be a "minimal" and "complete installation"....can there?) so suddenly. I had the editor installed before (I do not WANT to know what fragments are lying around), but it was not installed when I translated the first FMs last summer...and then it worked. By the way, all already-translated FMs (like The Bridge, which worked for sure weeks ago) also have invisible goals. Help....anyone?

The obvious first thing to check is whether you're using the updated T3Main.exe in your T3\System folder. It should be dated 17th November 2004.

It's 10th June 2004. :erm: It can't be the T3Ed, because it wasn't there in the first place. Where else do you get that file from?
Never thought about that. :tsktsk:

If you've already got the editor installed then look in the \System directory. You should find T3MainOptVersion, T3MainReleaseVersion and T3MainShippingVersion exe files. You want to copy the T3MainReleaseVersion into your T3 game \System directory, rename the existing T3Main.exe to T3Main.bak then rename the T3MainReleaseVersion.exe to T3Main.exe.
GarrettLoader does this automatically, so that's probably why it was working before. If you uninstalled GL because you were having problems then it's probably removed the updated T3Main at the same time.

I created a bookshelf, CIVinBOOKSHELF(static mesh found under StaticMesh-Furniture-Shelves ) but it doesn't have any books in it. It's the same with the ones in the dungeon library from the oms. the weird thing is that they used the same mesh and still some shelves appear with books, others don't.
How can I add books to these shelves ?
Thanks in advance.

The Mesh either has books or it doesn't. CIVinBOOKSHELF doesn't, ever. Which means you'll need to add them as seperate smeshes.

I'm editing and have come across a little hurdle. To start off with, i'd like all characters (guards included) to not attack Garrett on sight. Further, i'd like one character to hate one other character, so a fight will ensue if these two meet. And finally, if you get caught stealing, and a witness runs off to get the guards, THEN the guards will attack you.
I do hope this is clear. It was quite clear in the T1 and T2 editors as you get a list of groups that each character can be assigned to (bit basic i know), but having had a tinker with the T3ed, i don't seem to be having much luck.
