Hahaha jesus that trailer. NEVER CHANGE, JAPAN! :D
So yeah, Q2 is pretty soon. I'll probably be getting the Oculus Rift or Vive, unless PSVR turns out to be a lot better and/or cheaper somehow.

I wonder how well it will work with their existing catalogue of games. I.E. Bloodborne and the like

I very much doubt that it'll ever work with Bloodborne. There may be some games that are retrofitted with VR compatibility, but mostly I expect it'll be new games specifically developed to work with VR.
What I'm most curious to see is how well this'll work with the PS4 hardware. I'm not one of those PC Master Race twits, but it's already rare enough to get games that run at 60fps in 1080p. Seeing how both Oculus and Valve say that you need higher framerates for VR to work well, I wonder what this means. Perhaps they'll go for games that have simpler, more stylised graphics that are easier on the hardware.

I'd love to play a decent survival horror developed for this thing. Otherwsise, definitely interested too.

Bring on the holodeck.
That said there's yet to be that "killer app" to really sell VR. There needs to be some sort of exclusive game to VR that's only playable in that. Then we'll see a big change I think. Till then it will always be like 3D is to cinemas. More of a side thing, than as the primary focus.
Plus there is always the issue of movement.
Back in the 90s I'd have killed to have played something like what was seen in the movie "Lawnmower Man".

I can already tell you this gonna bomb in the long-term. You may see another Kinect 1.0 scenario, where it's initially good hardware sales figures but a 1:1 software attachment rate.
VR will find it's niche sales niche simulation buffs and Elite playing "dad gamers", possibly superceding TrackIR, but that's about it.
