Maybe most of you sorta put DXIW on storage, but I figured I had another go at it.
I have always been playing with the following augmentations: Vision, Neural Interface (swap for Aggressive Defense in end game), Strength, Electrostatic and Run Silent, and played as a sniper/surprise attack style.
So recently I upgraded my PC and decided to play DXIW again, but found I'm bored of my 'default' style and wanna try something novel. So I chose an All Drones theme aug build, meaning: Spy Drone, Aggressive Defense Drone, Hazard Drone, Biotoxin Attack Drone and Health Leech Drone. I began by building up Biotoxin and Spy Drone first.
I won't mentioned the details of most of the drones since they have been documented, but I found something real nice about Hazard Drone.
Apparantly, Hazard Drone adsorbs damage from MAG RAIL shots! I found out by accident on Liberty, when I turned up the Hazard Drone to prevent being poisoned by decomposing Elite Commandos, then got shot at by the Commandos at the south dock. Max Hazard Drone apparantly reduces Mag Rail damage by 75%, making the attacks much less painful.
Also, I always thought poison attacks shouldn't work against the Commandos, since THEY release poison gas on dying. However, the Biotoxin Drone shot up the first Commando at Cairo - QueeQeg's easily; I just kept behind a pilliar to avoid his Mag Rail shots until the Drone took him down.
Ignoring the overpowered Baton, I picked the Toxin Blade and found it useful against humans for a non-Strength Aug build. Since each hit temporarily disables the attacked human, one-on-one was a sure win provided I keep stabbing away. Plus I also had the Biotoxin Drone popping away ... even Billie died easily to this attack method, once I get rid of her spiderbot pets (chucked a scrambler grenade for the opening salvo and they turned on her, but I personally feel that a succession of concussion grenades set to detonate on contact is much more speedy and effective).
It was also quite cute seeing Alex followed around by a bunch of colourful drones :D , especially in th cutscenes.
