We both are running SS2 with the latest patch. I am running the server with these ports open:
Forward port range (TDP & UDP): 2300-2400
Forward port range (TDP & UDP): 28800-28900
Incoming: (TCP & UDP) 47624
There is no blocking on outgoing ports.
We both use Shtup and Rebirth.
We use Teamspeak too.
I will run the server and my mate will either get disconnected or will see me stuck or moving round in circles, but I'm actually somewhere else. His movements seem fine to me.
We have only just started the game, in training we are both fine. When we first join together it all happens then. With thought it might be our internet, but we stay talking on Teamspeak.

Have you tried without Teamspeak?
Gunzo on 2/7/2007 at 07:47
No, but a year or so ago we played this no problem on our old PC's. We have all since upgraded.

Sounds like a synchronisation problem.
Make sure you're both using the same set of mods.
Have you tried playing over Hamachi?
Gunzo on 7/7/2007 at 10:22
What's Hamachi? Is it better than the built in multiplayer tool?
Gunzo on 7/7/2007 at 13:01
I have, but it mentions using the magic port if you are behind a router/firewall. The latest version doesn't have this magic port. Should I forward everything through port 12975?
Nameless Voice on 7/7/2007 at 13:09
I never had to use the magic port option to get Hamachi to work.
For reference, that's now set under Status->Connection->Detailed Configuration->Connecting through NAT.

Ok, but what do you need to do to your firewall, just open and forward:
Forward port range (TDP & UDP): 2300-2400
Forward port range (TDP & UDP): 28800-28900
Incoming: (TCP & UDP) 47624
There is no blocking on outgoing ports.

If you're using Hamachi, then you don't need to forward anything.
That's rather the whole point.
