Over 20 years after playing T1 for the first time, I realised for the first time today that touching the electric pylons in the Cragscleft mines will hurt you. I've never had a reason to go near them.

Usually if it's a one of the stronger crates and it's Garrett doing the throwing. I haven't thrown one at a guard so I'll have to experiment.
yep , I noticed a striking contrast between the strong wooden crate texture and the weak wooden crate texture, the strong one has bright beige texture and the weak one has beige with smudgy and dirty brownish texture

update : i can assure that you can block sword / mace /hamemr attack with wooden crate , sorry my phrasing and wording on my previous post was a bit opaque. You should throw the wooden crate at the same moment as the guards swing their sword/mace/hammer towards you
Here is my video about it : (

*bonus : dodging an arrow with wooden crate

The two near the sleeping zombie? I couldn't get them to hurt me in either OldDark or NewDark.

The one in a well-lit cave near a mine cart. On the right is a dimmer ascending cave with a sleeping Hammer zombie priest and a few other sleeping zombies. I walked into it and ZZZZAP

It sounds like we are refering to the same thing. I wonder if you have any mods installed that cause it to do that? In (
http://www.thief-thecircle.com/guides/unusual/#CragscleftPrison) Thumper's Guide to the Strange and Unusual he makes a point of how the sparks won't hurt you. I imagine he'd have pointed out if anything else did.

I checked it out on Thief1 and Thief Gold v 1.27 , in both cases the blue bleam doesn´t hurt Garrett.
But I remember I stumbled upon this on an older Thief version years ago too.
Maybe it is now patched?
If someone has a clean unpatched T1 install, I would be glad if this could be tested out.

i only just realised yesterday when watching a new player discovering thief 2 that the "rare artifacts bay" in shipping & receiving is full of lost city loot items. subtle foreshadowing that i never noticed before

Awww, thanks for bringing back good memories. [emoji846] The whole mission is like a gallery of personalities of the City. It gives a hint of how and by whom the place is ruled.

I've always felt that there is a secret room that I've missed in Shipping and Receiving. It seems like there's a room that should be accessible in the corner office where the really tall book case is. Maybe it's because the building is just so massive.
