Played a bit of STALKER: Shadow of Chernobyl this winter... - by paganinio

So far the atmosphere and controls feel great. I haven't found a weapon yet and people are attacking me already, so it definitely brings back my first memories of SShock2 (having nothing but a Wrench and enemies are rushing towards me).
I'm still playing the outdoors scenario in the very beginning. Maybe the indoors part will be even more similar to SS2.
What's your thoughts on this game and should a SShock2 fan fall in love with it?

The game is awesome and does evoke feelings of dread and nervousness similar to SS2, but it is a twitch fps with no rpg elements, so you'd better have good aim. The interiors are some of the scariest enviroments in any game I have played, I can still remember the first trip to Agropom.

The places where the mood is most similar to System Shock's are the underground labs. Particularly X18.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - SoC is an awesome game (my favourite of the three games of the series), which I've replayed countless times. CoP is less buggy, and the most 'polished' game of the three, but I still prefer SoC every time.

I was always hoping that they would release all the modding tools for Stalker, because the inventory system reminded me so much of SS2 that I thought it would be a nice candidate for a SS2 Mod. Well, me dreaming here...
