So, long story short, I traded a copy of Freespace 2 for Stalker and a bit of cash (yes, I'm crazy, I know). So I've got me my Stalker earlier than intended - the question is - do I play it now or wait for more patches? Skimming the forums, it sounds quite buggy even with patch 1.01. Any quest-breaking/game-screwing bugs, or just minor ones? Should I wait for 1.2? 1.3?

Some of them aren't minor, but none of them break important parts of the game either.
I say play it. :thumb:

If you are impatient and if you play games fast, play it. If you play games slowly, wait.

Oh, crap.
For some strange reason Stalker doesn't have widescreen support, and apparently it won't be added till the third patch.
Guess I'll have to wait for that....

THe hell it doesn't. It supports pretty much all the widescreen resolutions out of the box. I'm playing it in widescreen right now.

Oh, I get it - it supports widescreen but doesn't adjust the FOV properly.
But there's a patch for it!

Yay.
HUD gets stretched though. Damn.
It's so lazy when devs implement widescreen without adjusting FOV. What's the point of playing widescreen if you see LESS than playing 4:3?

Maybe widescreen gaming isn't so common yet for them to excessively bother with it. :D

This is one of the reasons why I go 4:3, because it is widely supported and can be damn sharp. ;)

I wonder what would happen if you set the FOV to 360 degrees...

I can answer that right away; something very odd would happen.
