God, no, really you're funny, no it was not by choice, I had to change them, and no they were not cheap, there is really no adjust that can mask the god damned backlight, when I'll bite again (and that is when I have to do it), it will be pure LED backlight, and maybe it will grace me with more contrast.
Yeah, a good OLED TV will give you the same contrast ratio of a CRT. Since each pixel is self lit, black won't display any light, which means you get true black.
But ain't the neatest thing. The neatest thing is how you can roll them up and step on them if you want. And the TVs are razor thin with practically no bezel along the edges. It's futuristic Jetsons bullshit that absolutely blows my tiny little mind. Almost makes up for our severe lack of moon cars.

Maybe I need a Plasma running side by side to compare but the blacks on my LCD in games and with BluRay films are pretty black. With SD TV or DVDs not so much, but eh

Aren't they still having trouble making OLED screens last any decent amount of time? They used to wear out real quick, I heard. And making them really large was presenting a few obstacles. Mobile devices and Laptops seems like where they'll make the most impact at first.
