Hello everyone,
This is my first post to a board that has been many times the savior of my older games. So first of all thanks to everyone here.
But i'm posting something, so that means i must have a problem, right ?
Right you are.
I run Windows 7 Beta (and soon the final version) and can play the Thief 2/gold and system shock 2 game fine. There is just something that really bothers me.
On older games i noticed that the menu screens get really pixellated. In XP it used to be smooth (well it is pixellated but not nearly as bad as in Win7) with no blocky things, but under windows 7 it seems as if there is an extra layer of pixels over the ones already present. It makes the menus look worse then they should be.
I have this in Thief, Thief2, System shock 2 , Icewind Dale and other non 3d accellerated games.
Once i enter the game itself (where you do use 3d acelleration) all is ok. But the non acellerated menu's all look like crap.
I'm beginning to think it is the Aero interface, i havent tried disabling it yet (i'm at work now).
I was wondering if other people have the same problem and if you can fix it without having to disable Aero for example.
This is my system :
Amd X2 4400
Msi Neo4 - Fi
2Gb Ram
Nvidia 8800 GT

Well i tried disabling the Aero effect, but it hasnt changed the pixellated menu's.
It's really strange, i have a dualboot with XP with the same nvidia drivers installed and no profiles loaded for the games. And still both screens look very different. I'll see if i can upload both tonight. (At work again ...)

I'm not sure, it's the gold version and if there was a patch i'm sure i used it. I'm usually pretty up to date with such things.
I'll check it tonight.
