Ive a geforce4 mx 440, i cant play the dx2 demo cause a message comes up after launching into a black screen of nothingness.
pixel shader 1.1 is needed to run this game
Do I need a new card?

To play DX2 you do need a new card.
The nVidia Geforce 3, Geforce 4ti, Geforce FX and Radeon from 8500 upwards support pixel shader 1.1 or above.

There is a program called (
http://www.3dfxzone.it/dir/tools/3d_analyze/) 3D-Analyze which can emulate Pixel Shader functionality in software - but it is unstable and the menus do not show properly.

Heh, did I say it wouldn't work? ;)
The link explicitly states that the 9000 isn't supported, so for someone upgrading, it's probably best to go with another card.

Now this will be ghetto, using my p3 1ghz, GeForce 2 with SOFTWARE emulation of HARDWARE functions to run this game.
