Yeah, I guess I got a little giddy and enthusiastic branding them the next Indiana Jones... upon further thought, I could probably only rewatch The Curse of the Black Pearl. I was hoping for a third part that would draw the second film up into a combined movie that was equal or greater to the first.

I've never quite understood why these movies are held in such high regard by people.
PIRATES!

Well, yeah. More than that, Curse is MONKEY ISLAND!
Still, they just ain't that good...

That's true. . I love Monkey Island. :(
It least the movie had a lot more Barbossa in it. . .Geoffrey Rush is awesome.

I had already seen the 1st one but somehow missed the 2nd one. We've just watched the 3rd one - it was slightly confusing at times but I certainly enjoyed it. Must watch the 2nd one on DVD.

I took it for what it was worth. Bit flat in areas, I didn't really care. Did I enjoy it, for the most part I did. I wanted to relax, and enjoy the movie, I did.
Too bad, I missed the ending, right after the credits, what happened Scots?

There's a girl on a cliff looking out to sea, there's a flash of green on the horizon, we see that it is Keira with a young boy, then it cuts away to Will Turner guiding the ship towards shore.

I read somewhere that the scene with the ship disintegrating around the Commander guy was awesome and a triumph of modern CG, when in fact it was hilariously stupid.
Perhaps, but the scene where they
tip the ocean upside down absolutely was.
I loved Pirates 3, if only because I got exactly what I expected out of it: pure spectacle. And if you didn't laugh at one of the Jacks
making advances toward the goat, then you, sir, have a heart of stone!
