I have a game that I'm trying to reinstall, but I can't because of a corrupted file. I found out that it I had a version of said file in the directory, the installation would skip the file, and continue with the rest. If someone sent me the needed file, would it be sharing since I own the game, or would it be piracy?

I don't think it counts as piracy, but it probably violates some part of the EULA.
In my opinion, as long as the file comes from someone else who owns a legitimate copy of the game then you're doing nothing wrong. However it's clearly a good idea to ensure that if the person sending it does so by hosting it on their webspace, the file is removed pretty quickly after you've got it. Also, once someone's agreed to send you the file, don't draw too much attention to it.

Another thing you could do would be to ask a friend (who does not have the game) if you can briefly install the game on his/her machine, copy the file in question, and immediately un-install the game again.
But be careful if the file is located in C:\Windows\... because it might be an incompatible version.
